Partnership for Romania’s Energy Security
DNSC-ENEVO Cooperation Agreement on Cyber Security
ENEVO Group and National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the cyber security of energy infrastructures. The agreement mainly focuses on testing technologies and platforms for monitoring and alerting about cyber-attacks and incidents, as well as cooperation to ensure visibility of incidents affecting energy sector infrastructure in order to facilitate a joint and coordinated response at national level.
Cooperation to increase national resilience
The agreement between DNSC and ENEVO Group aims to:
- Share information and threat intelligence for proactive attack detection
- Organize events, workshops, and training sessions in the field of Operational Technology (OT) security
- Develop and disseminate to the public analytical materials and information based on relevant statistical data
- Actively support the development of public policies at national and European level in the field of industrial security.
Ensuring cybersecurity in critical areas depends fundamentally on close cooperation and joint efforts by all actors, both public and private, through the encouragement of innovation, the development of dedicated platforms, the sharing of know-how, and the active exchange of information on cyber threats.
DNSC supports the launch of platforms that facilitate information sharing, analysis and alerting on potential cybersecurity incidents for critical and important sectors.
“The energy sector in Romania is one of the most sophisticated and advanced in terms of operational systems and infrastructure. It comes as no surprise that the number and intensity of cyber-attacks targeting this sector has increased in complexity and intensity, particularly since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. In this context we need solutions, we need partners, we need professionals to focus on the improvement, security and cyber resilience of critical infrastructures in the energy sector,” says DNSC Director Dan Cimpean.
SentryOT has been developed within the ENEVO group by a Romanian team with unique expertise at the intersection of OT cybersecurity and power engineering. This dual specialization ensures a deep understanding of the risks specific to critical infrastructures and allows the creation of solutions tailored to the realities on the ground, capable of effectively protecting essential industrial processes.
“We are pleased to announce the conclusion of this strategic partnership with DNSC, one of the initiatives that can contribute to strengthening the cyber resilience of Romania’s critical energy infrastructures. This agreement reflects a shared vision of the public and private sector, based on proactivity, collaboration, effective exchange of know-how and skills. In a sector at the beginning of its journey, our joint efforts are aimed at transparent and effective management of cybersecurity challenges in the industrial and energy sectors,” says ENEVO Group CEO Cristian Parvulescu.
