The Energy Employers’ Federation and the Romanian Diplomatic Institute Launch the Second Edition of the “Energy Diplomacy” Program
The Energy Employers’ Federation (FPE) and the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (RDI) announce the launch of the second edition of the professional training program “Energy Diplomacy”, an initiative that strengthens an essential strategic direction for Romania: a deeper understanding of the relationship between energy, geopolitics and foreign policy.
The program provides participants with applied analytical tools to examine the interdependencies between energy, the global economy and international relations, as well as a thorough understanding of the diplomatic mechanisms through which states negotiate, cooperate and manage risks.
The second edition is addressed to professionals from central and local public administration, representatives of the private sector, experts in the energy sector and all those interested in continuing professional development at the intersection of energy and foreign policy.
“Energy is the new language of global diplomacy. The success of the first edition confirmed a clear reality: the energy sector can no longer be viewed solely through the lens of figures, but through that of strategic dialogue. In the current geopolitical context, where energy has become a key instrument of influence, training specialists in energy diplomacy is a national priority. We are pleased to continue our partnership with the RDI in order to provide future leaders with the tools necessary to navigate this complex economic landscape and to ensure Romania’s resilience in the international arena. Together with the RDI, we take pride in having created a community of professionals capable of anticipating economic and geopolitical developments. In a world marked by uncertainty, specialized education in energy diplomacy remains the most secure investment in the stability and future of Romania’s energy sector,” Daniel Apostol, Director General of the Energy Employers’ Federation, noted.
The first edition confirmed the genuine interest in such a program and, above all, the pressing need for applied expertise in a field where decisions are no longer merely technical or economic, but profoundly strategic. Today, energy is an instrument of influence, a factor of stability or vulnerability and a central pillar of national security.
In a context shaped by the energy transition, geopolitical realignments and growing competition for resources, energy diplomacy is becoming a strategic competence for public administration, the business community and all those involved in the decision-making architecture.
The Energy Employers’ Federation encourages professionals in the field to participate in this program, both as an investment in personal development and as a concrete way to contribute to strengthening Romania’s role in the European and international energy architecture.
