The EPG Summer School Returns with a New Edition
Registration for the EPG Summer School 2026 “Governing the Energy Transition in a World under Pressure” is now open.
The programme is aimed at students and young professionals, from Romania and other countries, who wish to gain knowledge of energy and climate policy from top-tier experts. The 2026 edition will take place from 29 June to 3 July in Bucharest and Constanta, Romania.
As geopolitical tensions, economic constraints, and shifting political priorities increasingly shape global energy systems, delivering the energy transition has become as critical and challenging as designing ambitious policies. Over an intensive five-day programme, the EPG Summer School, a unique initiative in Romania, offers an in-depth understanding of the structural challenges faced by today’s energy systems and the trade-offs involved in pursuing climate and energy objectives.
“In a global context marked by geopolitical, economic, and climate pressures, I believe that the energy transition requires not only investment and technology, but above all people who are prepared to understand and navigate the complexity of these changes. Now in its ninth edition, the EPG Summer School has become a growing community with over 100 graduates who are now working in the energy sector, administration, academia, or international organizations. The program combines applied courses and discussions with technical visits, interactive workshops, and informal socializing sessions, precisely to create a real space for learning and dialogue between young professionals, experts, and decision-makers. We invite those interested in energy, climate, and public policy to join us and become part of this community that actively contributes to the conversation about the future of the energy system,” Bogdan Leu, EPG Associate & Summer School Director, said.
Who can register? The summer school is designed for 20–25 Master’s and PhD students, as well as young professionals (up to 35 years old) who are working or studying in energy, climate policy, economics, engineering, law, political science, environmental studies, international relations, and related fields. Ideal candidates include professionals from public institutions, international organisations, NGOs, think tanks, academia, and the private sector.
Why should you join the Summer School? Participants engage with leading policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from international organisations, academia, and the energy industry through lectures, interactive workshops, and site visits. Beyond its academic content, the EPG Summer School provides a unique platform for peer-to-peer learning, debate, and community building, fostering cross-disciplinary and cross-border collaboration among the next generation of energy and climate leaders.
Registration is open until 5 April, with early bird spots available until 1 March.
