Transgaz Shares Rise Lifting the Bucharest Stock Exchange’s BET Index
The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed higher on almost all indices at the end of trading on August 11, with a trading value of RON 1.607 billion (€317.253 million).
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which includes the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, went up 0.23% to 20,925.28 points. The highest increase in the BET was recorded by Transgaz shares, up 3.1% to RON 46.60 per share – a new all-time high. Transgaz’s market capitalization reached RON 8,779 million.
The value of share exchanges totaled RON 55.649 million, while the value of bond exchanges was RON 1.548 billion. Most of the amount is due to the allocation of Fidelis government bonds from the offering conducted between August 1 and 8, Prime Transaction notes.
The most liquid shares were those of OMV Petrom, with transactions worth RON 19.66 million, followed by Banca Transilvania, with RON 10.86 million, and Hidroelectrica, with RON 5.93 million.
BET-Plus, which shows the performance of the 43 most liquid shares on the stock exchange, closed up 0.22% on the previous day.
The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund returns, was also up 0.14%, while BET-NG, which tracks the performance of ten energy and utilities companies, gained 0.51%.
The broad blue-chip BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks advanced 0.18%, while the SIF index, BET-FI, rose 0.11%.
At the same time, the BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies on the AeRO market, closed with a depreciation of 1.64%.
The biggest falls in BET were recorded by shares in Aquila, Premier Energy and BRD.
