Hidroelectrica Back on Top in BVB Market Capitalization Ranking

On February 5, Hidroelectrica returned to the top position in the ranking of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) in terms of market capitalization, confirming investors’ confidence in the company’s performance and development strategy.

During the trading session on February 5, 2026, Hidroelectrica shares recorded an appreciation of approximately 14% compared to September 2025. This positive development was directly reflected in the company’s market capitalization, which increased by approximately RON 7.7 billion, from RON 54.7 billion to RON 62.4 billion.

As a result, Hidroelectrica returned to the top spot in terms of market capitalization, consolidating its status as the largest Romanian company listed on the stock exchange.

At the same time, from the perspective of total share price return, adjusted for dividends distributed, the company’s performance was significant. On September 1, 2025, the total return was approximately 39%, and on February 5, 2026, during trading hours, it reached a level of approximately 56%.

The stock market performance was also supported by the share price reaching a historic high on January 28, 2026, at RON 142/share. This threshold corresponded to a market value of RON 63.8 billion, representing an increase of about 17% compared to September 2025.

The results confirm the company’s financial strength, the attractiveness of Hidroelectrica shares for investors, and its ability to generate sustainable value for shareholders in a complex economic and energy context.

Hidroelectrica is the largest producer of electricity from renewable sources in Romania and one of the most important players in the energy sector in South-East Europe. With a portfolio of more than 6.3 GW of installed capacity in hydropower plants, together with the Crucea wind farm, the company contributes to national energy security and to achieving the decarbonization objectives set by the EU policies.
